Conventional construction divides the building between separate trades and assemblies. Kazan starts with the whole: a timber structure, panelized enclosure and installation sequence designed together.
Mass timber panels
Heavy tongue-and-groove panels form walls, floors and roofs while remaining as the finished interior surface.
Airtight layer
A continuous exterior air and vapour control layer is detailed around the complete timber shell.
Continuous insulation
Insulation outside the structure reduces thermal bridging and keeps the timber warm and protected.
Integrated services
Electrical pathways and other building interfaces are planned before fabrication, not improvised on site.

Kazan can be erected roof-first. The structural roof and mass timber deck create shelter early, allowing the wall system and following work to proceed with less exposure to mountain weather.

Kazan moves much of the complexity into design and fabrication. Precisely cut components, clear sequencing and repeatable connections make it possible for owner-builders and community crews to complete far more of the assembly themselves—with project-specific engineering, permits and regulated trades still involved where required.
